Jackie, Kwok Kai Yi

My favorite moment of the day is walking home after finishing a day's work and observing various things in the environment around me, such as sunshine, flowers and plants. They can always pull my emotions. Therefore, the subject matter of my paintings are mostly landscapes or objects from daily life, inspired by my daily experiences and feelings, including the calmness and relaxation during walks and depression under pressure. 

The reason why I take them as the subject is because the fast-paced life of the city and the countless information on the Internet media always make people ignore the beautiful things around them. I want to capture these neglected scenery, and use slow rhythm methods such as creating oil paintings to depict them on the canvas,  which is also my art practice. More than that, my art style leans towards realism, so that the audience can not only visually see the images I am impressed with, but also feel the various emotions that I want to express in the painting through my brushstrokes and the use of colors. For example, the vitality under lively and agile brushstrokes, and the troubles under smooth and dark blue. My work is not only a painting, but also a materialization of my expression.
